Dry cleaning recommended

If hand washing:

* Use cold or lukewarm water (max 30°C) to avoid shrinkage.

* Use a mild soap or special detergent for delicate fabrics, such as wool or cashmere.

* Wash gently by hand without rubbing or twisting, to avoid damaging the fibers.

Machine wash (optional, with caution):

* If you have to use the machine, put the scarf in a washing net.

* Choose the “delicate laundry” or “wool” cycle at a low temperature (max 30°C) and without spinning.

Rinsing:

* Rinse several times with cold water until the water runs clear.

* Do not twist to wring out, but rather squeeze gently between two towels to remove excess water.

Dry flat:

* Lay the scarf flat on a clean towel, away from direct sunlight or any heat source (radiator, tumble dryer).

* Gently reshape the scarf to its proper size and shape as it dries.

Ironing at low temperature:

* Use an iron at a low temperature ("silk" or "wool" mode).

* Iron on the reverse side of the scarf to protect the colors and material.

* If possible, place a cotton cloth between the iron and the scarf to avoid shining the material.

* Do not use steam directly on cashmere as this can damage the fibers.

Optional steam:

* If the scarf is wrinkled, you can use a steamer at a distance of about 10 cm, without touching the fabric directly.

Store flat or rolled:

* Avoid folding the scarf too tightly to avoid crease marks.

* If you are short on space, gently roll the scarf instead of folding it to prevent creases.

Protect from moths:

* Store it in a breathable cloth bag (avoid plastic bags) to avoid humidity.

* Use lavender sachets or cedar blocks to repel moths, as cashmere can be their target.

Avoid direct light:

* Store the scarf in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to preserve the color.

Seasonal rotation:

* If you are not wearing the scarf for a long time, remember to take it out from time to time to let it breathe and prevent it from taking on musty odors.

Additional Tips

* Avoid wearing accessories (jewelry, belts) that could catch or damage the delicate material of the scarf.

* If a stain appears, clean it immediately by gently dabbing with a damp cloth.

These tips will help you preserve your scarves in
cashmere and modal, so they remain soft and retain their shine and shape
for a long time.

FAQs

Care of the natural silk scarf

To maintain a natural silk scarf, here are some basic tips

  1. Washing : Wash your scarf by hand with cold or lukewarm water and a specific product for delicate laundry. Avoid detergents with bleaching agents to avoid altering the colors. After washing, gently wring the scarf in a terry towel without wrinkling it.
  2. Drying : Dry the scarf flat on a dry terry towel. Do not hang it on a hanger or in the dryer, as this may distort or stretch the fabric. Also avoid exposing it to the sun to preserve its shine.
  3. Ironing : Iron at low temperature, ideally while the scarf is still damp. Start from the wrong side and avoid ironing the seams too hard. If necessary, finish with a light iron on the right side.

Storing an Anturelle Silk Scarf

How do I store and store my scarf(s)?

To properly store and store a silk scarf, here are some tips:

  1. Fold the scarf gently and avoid pulling it too tightly so as not to crease it.
  2. Store your scarf(s) in a drawer or jewelry box lined with clean fabric to protect it from dirt and damage.
  3. Avoid storing it in a humid place or in direct contact with sunlight, as this may alter the colors and texture of the silk.
  4. If you have several scarves, you can also hang them on a rope or use round hangers specially designed for scarves.
  5. For added protection, you can also use fine mesh laundry bags if you need to store them in a place where they might be exposed to other clothing or items.
